Vitor Ribeiro, who was also called Shaolin, is retired mixed martial artist. Lightweight division is the field in which he commenced his career. He professionally competed for; Shooto, DREAM, Cage Force, world fighting Alliance, K-1 HEROS and also cage range. Ribeiro won various titles including Shooto World Light Weight and Cage Rage Lightweight.
His great skills as a mixed martial artist, made him known in different parts of the world. In addition to that, his great skills made him prosperous in every event he participated. Shaolin was a man, who made people who competed against him shatter their dreams, not willingly but forcefully. Beating him was not a walk in the park. Ribeiro was a man of many skills in grappling. His aggressiveness while taking part in competitions was actually incomparable to any other participant in the same category. Shaolin was a nickname given to him by fellow competitors owing to his character while was a trainee in BJJ.
The man was only 14 years when he commenced his career. Shaolin joined gym after fighting with another kid while in school. The anger of being beaten by the kid triggered him to commence attending gym. In fact, he commenced going to a gym only a few weeks after fight. His talent was discovered immediately he stated taking part in competitions. By the time he was 17 years old, he had won world championships. He was then placed second in the nationals and also in Pan Ams.
World was really surprised to see a teen compete and defeat adults. This ability made people believe that Shaolin was truly talented man. By the time he Ribeiro eighteen years, Shaolin won black belt. This was a great achievement for his career. He took part in Brazilian Nationals where he excelled owing to his spectacular performance.
He continuously won world championships in lightweight division in years 1999, 2000 and also in the year 2001. These achievements dictated that Shaolin was actually man to watch. He commenced taking part in MMA in 2001, after winning many events in lightweight category. Within the new category, he did and performed excellently too. On this field, he developed untold wrestling skills, which made his competitors tremble on realizing that Shaolin would take part in a given event.
Shaolin announced his retirement from mixed martial arts in 2013. However, he did not end it all there since he resumed other roles. He became a professional referee in mixed martial arts in 2015. As referee, his experience in the field made him very successful. His excellent skills as a referee have been exuded in the past events that he acted as a referee.
